Michael John Haughton
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Mike played in some major shows including West Side Story and Cats. Working in the folk, rock and jazz scene, he also supported the legendary Peter, Paul and Mary, as well as guesting with them.
Mike studied in America before coming to the UK, firstly with a touring Australian folk band playing at the Cambridge Folk Festival alongside The Chieftains, and then subsequently settling in the UK as a freelance session musician and member of Iona.
Mike has played on many studio recordings one of which was for Cliff Richard, which resulted in being asked to join Cliff’s touring band, which he has been a part of since 1994, involving innumerable tours and tv appearances around the world. Other artists Mike has played for include Martyn Joseph, Paul Field, Hank Marvin, Nick Beggs, Bob Geldof, Rick Fenn, Nick Mason, Elaine Page and Olivia Newton John.
In between touring, Mike plays in numerous West End shows and freelances in the London music scene, whilst also enjoying writing and recording original music.
